Djokovic has had a very good draw – two unseeded players, a qualifier, and the No. 22 and No. 27 seeds. The only top-shelf player he faced was No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev – and he summarily dismissed him.

And he will need every bit of his energy, every bit of strength in his legs as Djokovic will focus on being the one dictating every point, to lessen his own need to move and push his hamstring to the limit.

Tsitsipas will still have some scar tissue from his first – and so far, only – Grand Slam singles final, which came in 2021 at the French Open.

He faced Djokovic. He was up two sets to none, and lost in five.

Tsitsipas won two of his first three meetings with Djokovic – in Canada in 2018, and in Shanghai in 2019. But the Serb has won the last nine.
