Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Analysis
Tampa Bay had a slow start to their first month, going 7-6-1. Since then, the Bolts have been dangerous, going 17-5-0, tied for the most wins with the NHL-best Boston Bruins in that span. In winning eleven of their last fourteen games from December 1st onward, Tampa Bay has racked up at least four goals in all but three occasions. They rank fourth best in goals per contest in that span.

— NHL (@NHL) December 30, 2022
It hasn’t just been their scoring that has been ignited – their Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has been brilliant. He had an uncharacteristic October and November, with pedestrian 2.88 GAA & .906 save % numbers. Since their hot streak started in December, Vasi has a 1.69 GAA and .946 save percentage.
The Lightning are in a back-to-back game situation, having competed on Tuesday. This season, they’re 3-3 in the second half of back-to-backs, and they’re also 1-6 in their last seven as underdogs.
Minnesota Wild Betting Analysis
Minnesota’s season has nearly been identical to that of their counterparts – they began it by slumping to a 7-8-2 record, but since then, are 14-5-0. They were seven worst in goals/game in their initial speed bump, but are seventh best in winning 14 of 19.
Goaltender Filip Gustavsson, who is slated to start this one, has been a pillar of strength in the Wild net. He’s surrendered two or fewer goals in six of eight outings, with five of those resulting in a shutout or just one goal allowed. Just six points separate the third and sixth teams in the Central, with Minny occupying the third position.
