After last year’s riveting victory, many love Miami to continue its winning ways against the Ravens this week. However, the Dolphins are just 1-9 against the spread in their last ten meetings with Baltimore. Yet, 83% of bets have come in on the Dolphins to cover this weekend.

Miami comes in off a Week 1 victory of the Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Rookie head coach Mike McDaniel’s new offense made all the headlines this off-season, but it was the defense that won the game. Miami’s defense racked up a touchdown, two fumble recoveries, and an interception to rout the Patriots 20-7.

Meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes to Devin Duvernay as Baltimore routed the Jets 24-9. Jackson added a long touchdown to second-year wideout Rashod Bateman in a comfortable Ravens win.

Miami Dolphins Betting Trends

Miami is coming off of a huge momentum building victory in the week 1. The defense was dominant, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa played well in a win over the Patriots. Receiver Tyreek Hill looked the part of the shiny new toy, catching 8 passes for 94 yards and looking every bit the dangerous weapon he was in Kansas City. Even 75 million dollar tackle Terron Armstead looked strong throughout the contest, proving he’s worth every cent to this Dolphins team.

Everything went the Dolphins way in week 1.

Therein lies the issue. The Dolphins looked explosive on both sides of the ball, and many have crowned this a playoff team after just one game. However, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens present an entirely different challenge than the New England Patriots.

After all, New England has only just begun to transform their offensive scheme this off-season. Quarterback Mac Jones is a pocket passer, and clearly does not possess the weapons the Ravens do. The Dolphins were a terrible week 1 matchup for a Pats team in transition.

Additionally, Miami is 1-8 against the spread versus Ravens coach John Harbaugh. The Dolphins will have a much harder time solving this Ravens offense on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens Betting Trends

Coming off of a week 1 flattening of the New York Jets, this Ravens team has to feel good about their prospects for 2022. Quarterback Lamar Jackson may not have signed an extension, but he looks like he’s taken the next step in slinging the rock this off-season. Jackson looked comfortable working mostly from the pocket last week, albeit against a weak Jets pass-rush. The Ravens were just having fun out there in week 1.

Having said that, the Ravens are a banged up football team. Key players JK Dobbins, Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, and Patrick Ricard remain questionable for this contest. While left tackle Ronnie Stanley is doubtful to play. Suddenly, betting on the Dolphins looks even more enticing.

Dolphins vs Ravens Prediction

This looks like the perfect spot to bet on the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Mike McDaniel’s team looked explosive on both sides of the ball last week. Whereas the Ravens are banged up and look ripe for the picking. However, it’s impossible to to ignore John Harbaugh’s coaching experience and the Dolphins record the past decade against Baltimore hardly builds confidence.

Instead, let’s look at a key trend on the total. The under is 5-0 in the Dolphins last five road games. Additionally, the under is 4-0 in the Ravens last four games following a win, and 6-0 in the Ravens last six games as a favorite. Rather than picking a team against the spread and holding your nose till the gun, play the under.

Pick: UNDER 44.5 (-110) 2 Units

2022 Record: 0-2 , -2 units
