The Golden State Warriors have seen their NBA Championship odds drift following an historic blowout to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Having become title favorites with a 3-1 advantage and news of Ja Morant’s injury, the Dubs are now tied with the Phoenix Suns at Caesars Sportsbook.
The Suns’ price had moved out to +275 at Caesars when their series was 2-2, but their Game 5 win over the Mavericks has put them back to favorites at +220. Chris Paul and co. play on Thursday night, one win away from a second consecutive Conference Finals appearance.

Warriors Look Vulnerable Following Game 5
The Warriors are still going to progress despite their abysmal showing in Game 5. With Ja Morant all but ruled out for the series, the Dubs need to win one of two, and the series returns to San Francisco for Game 6. Still, there have been areas of concern. The defense has been inconsistent at best, and the offense has been surprisingly patchy, particularly the shooting of Klay Thompson.
Gary Payton II’s injury limits Steve Kerr’s options going forward, and their lack of size could prove a problem when facing Phoenix or Milwaukee in future rounds. The Warriors are still in the best position to progress of any team, though, leading to their short title odds.

Phoenix were threatening to cruise through the second round early in this series, but the Mavericks made it interesting with two wins in Dallas. The Suns claimed a crucial Game 5 victory, yet this series is not over. With homecourt advantage, they are heavily favored to win one of the next two, however, which has brought their championship odds down to the +220 mark.
Celtics and Bucks Come Off Epic Game 5
Boston became the East’s title favorite after a tough Game 4 win over the Bucks. Milwaukee returned the favor with an epic second half performance in Game 5 and regained the conference’s favorites status as a result. The Bucks are as short as +400, holding a 3-2 series lead ahead of Game 6 at Fiserv Forum.

The eventual winners of this series will be heavily favored in the Eastern Conference Finals. Milwaukee and Boston are the East’s two best teams, and the Bucks look set to have Khris Middleton back at some point in the next round.
Miami is one win away from eliminating the Sixers, but they look a long way off both the Celtics and Bucks right now with Kyle Lowry injured and Jimmy Butler having to carry an enormous offensive load. Given how the Sixers looked with Joel Embiid in Games 3 and 4, Philly is a tempting title longshot at +3500.
Best Title Bet With Current NBA Championship Odds
Milwaukee has looked a great bet to win the title all season long. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player on the planet, and by a considerable distance at the moment. They have gone toe-to-toe with a great Boston team even without Middleton, and Jrue Holiday came up big for them in the clutch in Game 5. Where Mike Budenholzer has previously been criticized in the postseason, he has made crucial tweaks in this series.

With Middleton on his way back and facing a favorable Conference Finals matchup, the Bucks are good value at +400.
In the Western Conference, Phoenix remains the team that inspires the most confidence. There has been some up and down play through the first two rounds, however, and getting past Golden State is not a foregone conclusion even if the Dubs have been unconvincing at times. Milwaukee, with Antetokounmpo at his best and their second/third best player returning, are clearly the best wager on the board.
