You’ve got to be either the biggest Tiger Woods fan or a bettor who lives for longshots — and maybe a combination of both — to put money down on Tiger winning the 87th edition of the Masters.
Yet, I can’t say I’d blame you.
No other player in the worlds casts a shadow like Woods, and despite playing just one tournament this year — and walking with a noticeable limp during a practice round at Augusta Sunday, the current 985th-ranked player in the world still gets his own betting section at every sportsbook.
And depending where you go, he’s a distant +8000 in the 2023 Masters odds.
That doesn’t mean you can’t find action on Woods, and some more favorable betting options. We’ve listed a few of our favorites below, and run down wagers worth considering when Tiger and the rest of the field of 88 tee off Thursday.
Tiger Woods 2023 Masters Odds
Bet | Odds |
---|---|
To Win Outright | +8000 |
To Lead After Round 1 | +4500 |
To Finish Top 10 | +550 |
To Make Cut | -200 |
To Miss Cut | +160 |
Woods’ odds are shortened almost in half from outright winner to Round 1 leader at +4500.
Picking him to get to the weekend is the shortest of the bunch at -200, while excelling to a top-10 finish gives you +550 odds.

Odds as of April 4 at BetMGM and DraftKings. DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a 20% profit boost on Tiger Woods to finish in the top-20 while Bet365 is offering Tiger Woods at +100 to make the cut.
Woods Wager 1: Tiger Makes the Cut (-200)
Death, taxes, and Tiger making the cut at Augusta.
The guy was out of competitive golf for 508 days after a car accident that nearly caused him to lose his right leg. This was after already dealing with a myriad of surgeries and spine fusions to his lower back.
And yet, Tiger not only made his debut at Augusta, but made his 23rd consecutive cut at the tournament, a MC in 1996 as an amateur the only blemish on his Masters’ resume.

Fast forward to today, and all indications state that he is as healthy as he’ll ever be, which means he’s as good as gold to make it to the weekend.
Of course, cold weather Saturday and Sunday really hampered him, as he shot back-to-back 78’s — his worst scores at the Masters ever — to finish in 47th place in 2022.
While that makes me pause at a top-10 finish, the play is to hammer those making the cut odds.
Woods Wager 2: Woods to Lead After Round 1 (+4500)
If there is a long shot worth considering, it’s le Tigre sitting at the top of the leaderboard after Round 1.
It was a sight to behold just a year ago, when golf fans around the world marveled at Woods’ opening round. He looked exceptional, carding an opening-round 71. He was one of just 17 players to shoot under par in Round 1.
It’s a very small sample size, but Woods has shown he can go low this year, carding a 4-under 67 in third round play at The Genesis Invitational.

While Riviera CC isn’t Augusta, Woods’ familiarity with the Masters track (he’ll be making his 25th career appearance) gives him a decided experience advantage on virtually everyone in the field. Of course, he’s won the tournament outright five times — a third of his total major championship count of 15.
We don’t know if Woods can put together four rounds of competitive championship golf anymore with his physical limitations, but it’s more than possible he can put together a solid 18 holes.
If those happens to come in Round 1, it could be a very profitable round for you too.
