South Carolina is coming off their first SEC victory of the season, an 84-69 home win over Texas that snapped a brutal 13-game conference losing streak. The Gamecocks have struggled mightily all year, especially offensively where they rank just 117th in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency.

They have been slightly better on the defensive end, ranking 50th, but that defense has not traveled well, allowing 80+ points in 5 of their 7 road games.

Missouri, meanwhile, comes in looking to bounce back from a tough 92-85 road loss to Arkansas last time out. The Tigers boast the nation’s 6th most efficient offense per KenPom, averaging 83.7 points per game (11th) while shooting 48.3% from the field (32nd) and 36.9% from three (44th). They have been absolutely dominant at home, going 17-2 straight-up at Mizzou Arena.

I’m backing Missouri’s team total over in this one. The Tigers have consistently lit up the scoreboard at home all season, and I expect them to exploit a South Carolina defense that has been very leaky on the road. Missouri plays at a fast tempo that should allow them to speed up the Gamecocks and get plenty of good looks.

Even against below-average SEC offenses like LSU, South Carolina has still surrendered 80+, so Missouri’s prolific attack should have no trouble clearing this number on their home floor.

I also like Collin Murray-Boyles to go over his points prop of 16.5. The talented South Carolina big man is coming off a strong 22-point outing in the win over Texas and is averaging 7.7 points per game over his past seven outings. He’s by far the Gamecocks’ most consistent offensive weapon, also leading the team in rebounding (8.5 rpg) and field goal percentage (57.3%). Look for South Carolina to feed their star early and often in this one.

Overall, I just don’t see South Carolina being able to keep pace with Missouri’s high-powered offense, especially in a hostile road environment. The Gamecocks are a bottom-tier SEC team for a reason, while the Tigers have proven to be an elite squad, particularly on their home floor. I’m not opposed to laying the points, but the team total has the best value.
