Yankees, Chiefs, Jake Paul Were Hot

Sports bettors flocked to the Bronx Bombers across both companies in 2024, with the Yankees being the most popular team in sports to bet on in terms of tickets and handle among DraftKings users. The Yankees also participated in six out of the 10 most bet on games for BetMGM in terms of tickets for 2024.

While the Yankees ruled baseball across both platforms, NFL remained king as the Super Bowl was the most bet on event for the year for both DraftKings and BetMGM. The Chiefs were the most bet on NFL team in terms of handle and tickets for DraftKings, and were involved in three out of the top five most popular BetMGM events for the last year as well.

Unfortunately for bettors, the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 defeat of the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship was the most profitable event of 2024 for the BetMGM sportsbook, while Travis Kelce was the single worst player to bet on for props for DraftKings users in the last year.

However, the Chiefs were also the most profitable overall NFL team DraftKings users bet on in 2024.

Despite the fight ending up being a huge dud, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event drove huge numbers for both BetMGM and DraftKings. The fight was the most bet on combat or boxing event in 2024 for BetMGM, while Mike Tyson was the most bet on boxer in 2024 in terms of tickets and handle for DraftKings.
