Playing their best ball of the season, the Virginia Cavaliers (13-12, 6-8 ACC, 10-4 home, 12-13 ATS) welcome the top team in the ACC, the #2 Duke Blue Devils (22-3, 14-1 ACC, 7-1 away, 15-10 ATS), to John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA, at 8:00 pm ET. Though UVA has won three straight, including its best win of the season (73-57 at Pitt as 13-point underdogs), the Blue Devils head into Monday night as massive 13.5-point road favorites.

The Blue Devils have been obliterating the vast majority of their opponents. They have a +20.2 average point differential across their first 25 games, with only one SU loss in the last 17 games (77-71 at Clemson on Feb. 8). Cooper Flagg (19.8 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 4.0 APG) is the -200 favorite in the Wooden Award odds and has already scored 22 or more points 11 times this season, which includes a ludicrous 42-point outburst against Notre Dame on Jan. 11.

But head coach Jon Scheyer doesn’t tend to ride Flagg if he doesn’t have to. In Duke’s last three wins, which all came by double-digits, Flagg played fewer than 30 minutes, and only went over 20 points once.

Virginia has certainly played better of late than it did early in the season, but this is also a team that, after starting the season rated 80th at KenPom, sank all the way to 140th in early February. Virginia’s stout defense will keep the tempo slow, but the Cavaliers just don’t have the horses to keep up with a team as talented as Duke over 40 minutes.

In addition to the under on Flagg, I’m also betting the under on the game total of 132.5. Duke’s defense is quietly rated fourth in the country in efficiency, and the Blue Devils have held 12 of their 25 opponents under 60 points. Virginia’s 110th-rated offense is going to have an immensely difficult time scoring the ball and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wahoos were held under 50.

As he does each time out now, Cooper Flagg has the highest point total of the night at a massive 20.5. He also leads the rebound totals at 5.5, though the UVA frontcourt isn’t listed in the Duke vs Virginia player props at this point.

Isaac McKneely (13.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 3.0 APG) has the highest total on the Virginia side at just 11.5.

Virginia+14.0 (-110) at bet365+900 at ESPN BetU 132.5 (-115) at ESPN Bet

The Duke vs Virginia point spread ranges from Duke -13.5 to -14.0. The best ATS option for Blue Devils bettors is -13.5 (-115) at BetMGM, while the best ATS option for UVA bettors is +14.0 (-110) at bet365.

Counterintuitively, bet365 also has the best moneyline price on Duke but, at -1300, is still hyper-short on a win for the visitors. The longest odds on a UVA win are at ESPN Bet, where the Wahoos are priced at +900.

There is still a one-point range with respect to the game total as well, but that may not last long. Most books have the line at 131.5 but ESPN Bet still has it a point higher, making it the best choice for betting the under in Monday’s college basketball odds.

Despite the short odds and huge spread, the public is all over the Blue Devils, both on the moneyline and ATS. As of 6:46 pm ET, the college basketball public betting splits showed Duke getting 98% of moneyline handle and 90% of ATS handle.
