After playing one of the most-thrilling games of the regular season last week, the Minnesota Timberwolves (22-20, 12-10 away, 16-25-1 ATS) and Memphis Grizzlies (27-15, 15-5 home, 28-14 ATS) will meet again on Monday afternoon at FedEx Forum in Memphis at 1:40 pm CT/2:40 pm ET. Though Ja Morant is questionable due to a foot injury, the Grizzlies are still 5.5-point favorites at most sportsbooks in Monday’s NBA odds.

These teams met in Minneapolis on January 11 and Memphis walked away with a 127-125 road win thanks to a Ja Morant go-ahead jumper with 18 seconds to play. Morant (21.4 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 7.5 APG) had just 12 points on the night, though, and it was Jaren Jackson’s 33-point outburst that really propelled Memphis to the road victory.

Morant missed Memphis’ last game, but the Grizzlies were just fine without the two-time All-Star during a 140-112 road win over the Spurs. Santi Aldama led the way with 29 points.

Minnesota is 2-2 since losing to Memphis, losing to Golden State (116-115 home) and Cleveland (124-117 home) and beating Washington (120-106 away) and New York (116-99 away). The Timberwolves are, very quietly, on a four-game road win streak.

The Timberwolves have been infuriatingly inconsistent all season. And, as evidenced by their horrendous 16-25-1 ATS record, a lot more was expected of Chris Finch’s team this season. That said, they are a hard team to pull away from. Only once in the last team games has Minnesota lost by more than seven points.

Given that Morant may not even suit up tonight, I love the value on the Timberwolves catching six points. I’m also betting Jackson (22.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.1 APG) to stay under his point total of 22.5. While he torched Minnesota for 33 just last week, that was the only time in the last five games he’s gone over 22.5 points. The Timberwolves still have a top-ten defense (seventh in D-Rating at 110.5) and play at the fourth-slowest tempo in the NBA.

Anthony Edwards (26.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 4.3 APG), on the other hand, has scored at least 28 points in four straight and is averaging 36.6 PPG in his last five road games.

NBA player props from DraftKings on Jan. 20.

Anthony Edwards has the highest point total of the night at 25.5, followed by Jaren Jackson Jr at 22.5. Julius Randle (21.5) is the only other player over 20.

Rudy Gobert leads the rebound totals at 10.5, which is two higher than Randle at 8.5 and four higher than any other player.

Memphis’ Desmond Bane, who could be running the point in place of Ja Morant, has the highest assist total at 6.5. Morant is not listed in the Minnesota/Memphis player props due to his uncertain status.

Jaylen Wells, who currently sits third in the NBA Rookie of the Year odds (+300), has a point total of 10.5, while teammate Zach Edey, who’s one spot behind him in the ROY race (+700), has a point total and rebound total of 6.5.

Timberwolves vs Grizzlies Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Minnesota Timberwolves +6.0 (-110) at bet365 +190 at ESPN Bet O 234.5 (-115) at BetMGM
Memphis Grizzlies -5.5 (-110) at Caesars -223 at BetMGM U 235.5 (-115) at ESPN Bet

The Timberwolves vs Grizzlies spread is Memphis -5.5 at most sportsbooks but as high as Minnesota +6.0 (-110 both ways) at bet365, which is the best option for Minnesota ATS bettors. Caesars, FanDuel, and BetMGM all list Memphis -5.5 at -110 odds.

On the moneyline, BetMGM has the best price on a Memphis victory at -223 (1.45 decimal) while ESPN has the longest odds on Minnesota winning straight up at +190.

There is a full one-point range in the game total. While most books have it at 235 even, BetMGM is half a point lower at 234.5 (O -115/U -105) while ESPN Bet is a half point higher at  235.5 (O -105/U -115).

The NBA public betting percentages for MLK Day heavily skew to the Grizzlies; Memphis is getting 75% of ATS handle and 64% of moneyline handle as of 9:49 am ET. The public also loves the under, putting 78% of game-total money on under 235.
