  • The Edmonton Oilers can advance to the Stanley Cup Final tonight

The Edmonton Oilers can advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006 with a win against the Dallas Stars tonight. Game 6 of the Western Conference Final will be played on Sunday, June 2nd, at 8:30 p.m. ET, and the broadcast will be carried by TNT.

Up 3-2 in the series, the Oilers are home favorites over the Stars in Game 6 tonight. We’ve made our Oilers vs Stars Game 6 prediction, plus identified some of the best player props to wager on.

Dallas Stars vs Edmonton Oilers Game 6 Prediction

The Oilers have all the momentum in the series after reeling off two consecutive victories to take a 3-2 lead. The Stars’ offense, which ranked third-highest in the league during the regular season, has gone cold with only three goals in the past two games.

We picked the Stars to win this series in our Oilers vs Stars series odds and prediction, but has the team run out of fumes? Head coach Pete DeBoer actively shut down speculation about his team lacking character following the deflating 3-1 loss at home in Game 5.

We are still bullish on this Stars team, primarily due to goaltending. Jake Oettinger has been excellent on the road this season, having posted a 1.71 goals-against average and .947 save percentage in eight away contests. Dallas as a team is 6-2 in road games this postseason.

Edmonton is certainly capable of winning both this game and the series, but we don’t expect the Stars to make it easy for them. Dallas is led by two veteran forwards, Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn, who are well aware this might be their last shot at winning a Cup.

Dallas has emerged victorious in three of their past four elimination games, including in Game 7 against the Vegas Golden Knights this postseason. They have just three losses in their past 17 road games and won’t be intimidated by the hostile environment tonight.

With the public backing McDavid and the Oilers in the NHL public betting trends, we’ll hop on Dallas at this underdog price. We’re also betting the under given the tight-checking nature of elimination games. Furthermore, the under is on a remarkable 26-6-1 run in Oilers games in which the team allows two goals or less in their previous game.

Game 6 Picks:

  • Stars ML (+114)
  • Under 5.5 (-135)

DAL-EDM Player Props

When it comes to the NHL player props, no player is an odds-on favorite to find the back of the net. Zach Hyman, who leads the NHL playoffs with 13 goals, has the best odds to find twine at +100 (50% implied probability).

Joe Pavelski +330 1.5 (-110o/-120u) 0.5 (+140o/-180u)

Wyatt Johnston to record a point at -115 odds sticks out at great value considering how reliable he’s been for Dallas this postseason. Johnston paces the team with 16 points in 18 games and has found the back of the net in three straight contests.
