Florida Betting Trends
Unfortunately for the Gators, star quarterback Anthony Richardson has opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft. Additionally, guard O’Cyrus Torrence, wide receiver Justin Shorter, and defensive tackle Gervon Dexter will sit this one out to prep for the draft. Moreover, the Gators have a ton of players who hit the transfer portal and won’t be available for Saturday’s game.
Luckily, Billy Napier’s squad has a lot of depth to fall back on. Freshman running back Trevor Etienne and his backfield mate Montrell Johnson can churn up yards in a hurry for what has been a dominant Gators rushing attack. Those two will greatly help freshman quarterback Jack Miller, who will make his first career start in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Gators defense forced 24 turnovers this season. Good for tenth in the nation. In Florida has any chance of pulling off an upset they will have to win the turnover battle on Saturday afternoon.
While the spread may have moved in the Beavers’ favor since Anthony Richardson opted out, it’s important to note that Florida went 5-0 against the spread as an underdog this season.
Oregon State Betting Trends
Head coach Jonathan Smith will be extremely happy that most of his team is set to compete in this year’s Las Vegas Bowl. Only cornerback Rejzohn Wright (thumb surgery) will miss this game for the 9-3 Beavers.
The Beavers’ recipe for success is simple, run the football and control the clock. Oregon State runs to the ball at a top-20 rate this season, while averaging nearly 200 rushing yards per game. Led by running back Damien Martinez’s 970 yards, this rushing attack is more than capable of controlling the Las Vegas Bowl. Besides, the Gators have been vulnerable against the run all year, surrendering over 177 yards per game on the ground.

Oregon State was a dream for sports bettors this season, as the Beavers covered in 10 of their 12 games. Crucially, the over is 9-2 in the Beavers’ last 11 games played on grass.
Florida vs Oregon State Prediction
With so much turnover on the opposite sideline, Oregon State is rightly favored in the Las Vegas Bowl. However, although their dominant rushing attack should lead to the Beavers controlling this football game, it’s unlikely to lead to a double-digit victory.
Jack Miller is starting his first collegiate game, and the Gators will be shorthanded with so many players in the portal. That being said, Miller will still be surrounded by 4 and 5-star recruits at every skill position, and Florida’s offense is more than capable of putting up points. I like Florida to score just enough points for the over to cash in this one.
