Elliott Loves Road Courses
Chase Elliott does well on road courses, so it’s not surprising to see him listed as the favorite this week. Taking a look back over the last three seasons, Elliott has four road-course wins since the start of 2018. He has two starts on this particular track and he’s picked up a win and a sixth-place in those outings.

Overall, Elliott is fourth in the standings and is having a strong season. His recent finishes have been fairly impressive with a fifth, 22nd, seventh, and fifth in his last four starts.
Going back further, he has nine top tens in his last 12 races, with a win and five finishes in the top-five spots. He’s a good bet this week.
Truex Jr. Is a Good Option
We’re pretty much sticking with the favorites with our first two picks here but these are arguably the two best road course drivers right now. It’s hard to overlook them. That’s why we see both inside of 6/1 and everyone else at that number or beyond.
WHAT A FINISH.

Truex Jr. has won the last two Sonoma races and placed second in his last two starts at Watkins Glen. Taking a look at the Charlotte Roval, he has a 14th and a seventh, but it’s worth noting that the 14th-place finish was after Jimmie Johnson wrecked him (in 2018). Truex Jr. looked like he was going to get the win.
Given his strong history with road courses, generally, and this track, in particular, he’s a solid bet here.

Bet on Bowman?
One driver who is further down the board and might be worth a bet is Alex Bowman. He’s only made two starts on this track and his results were second and fourth. He hasn’t led laps here, so he might not be a good bet to win outright, but consider him for matchups or top-ten props.
The 48 has a strong legacy already. I’m excited to have the chance to create one of my own with @allyracing. #DoItRight pic.twitter.com/jCQEfI2yOx

Bowman has some momentum going into this race as he has produced top-ten results in five of his last seven starts. When you consider that he only had six top tens in his previous 24 races this season, it indicates that he’s in a little bit of a groove right now.
